That's right - no photos from yesterday. Well, they're still in my camera.
After a wild goose chase through a large shopping mall we finally located the Apple connector that was supposed to connect my camera to my ipad. It still doesn't work. Our workaround will be to take a few photos with my phone, which I can email to myself and then add to my blog. I will be able to transfer photos from my camera to my computer when I get home. If you have any suggestions, about connecting to my iPad, please send me an email.
This morning we went to the Jim Thompson house. He is the American who is credited with reviving the silk trade in Thailand. He assembled his home from old Thai teak homes from all parts of Thailand. The grounds are very beautiful and the gift shop was understated but elegant. Yes, I bought a beautiful silk scarf.
My next adventure was a 90 min Thai massage. Bruce opted out of a massage in favor of a nap since he is still feeling jet lagged, so I took a taxi to a salon recommended by the hotel. The masseuse spoke almost no English. Thai massage is very deep body work and involves the masseuse using her elbow, feet and arms along with her hands. Good thing I've had lots of hands on body work before - this was similar to the body logic and napraparhy that I've had before. Boy, were my hamstrings tight (she was standing on them!)
For dinner we took a taxi to Chinatown for fresh seafood. Here is a photo of the street in Chinatown and one of the dishes we ordered -the largest prawns I've ever seen.
