We figured out the Skytrain and made our way to the river where we took a ferry to Wat Pho to see the huge golden reclining Buddha. We also had Thai massages on our feet at the massage school on the grounds. On the way back to the ferry after lunch, a distinguished looking gentleman stopped us to ask if we needed directions. He chatted with us, looked at our map, and proceeded to hire a tuk-tuk to take us to four other temples.
A tuk-tuk is a small open air vehicle with a motorcycle type engine and room for two to three passengers. It weaves through traffic like the motorbikes do and the prices are negotiated prior to the trip. We saw lots of areas in the city, and opted out of climbing to the top of Golden Mountain.
We have not seen any evidence of the demonstrations that are occurring somewhere in the city.
We finished the day with a quiet dinner at our hotel and a trip to the local shopping center to replace the connector that allows me to transfer photos from my camera to my iPad. If you see any photos below, you know the new connector works.
