We learned how weasel poop coffee is made - yes, that right. The weasels eat the coffee beans and after they poop them put, the beans are cleaned and roasted to make this special coffee. Who knew?
We visited a silk factory to see the silk being spun into thread. We have seen other parts of the silk making process, but not this part.
Then we took the "mountain limousine" up a hill into the village of Buon Chuoi. The vehicle was an old tractor pulling an open trailer with rough seats. As we entered this very poor village of people who used to love in the forests, lots of children ran from their homes to climb up into the trailer or hang on the sides for a ride. These children are as dirty and bedraggled as any you have seen in any documentary or movie. The chief of the village welcomed us into his home and answered our questions about life in the village.
After lunch at an restaurant back on Dalat we had a few hours to rest before heading to Dalat University to meet with students to give them an opportunity to practice their English.
I walked around campus with a darling girl named Ha. We talked about our families, the things I learned about Vietnam, the Declaration of Independence, her career goals, and the future of Vietnam. Bruce enjoyed talking with two young men.
We head to Saigon early tomorrow morning to spend three days there before heading to Bangkok for our flight home.
